The New Year has once again seen us extremely busy with the constant arrival of cruise ships into the port of Tauranga. The cruise ship industry is flourishing and with over 80 ship visits this season, the Bay of Plenty tourism revenue intake must be of great satisfaction to all of the local operators. Royale Coachlines vehicles are in great demand and we are pleased to announce the latest addition to our fleet – a 5 star+ Scania 51 seat touring coach which provides extraordinary comfort and presentation to our valued present and future clientele. Already this coach is heavily booked for the remainder of the summer season with customers realising how fortunate Tauranga is to have a coach of such quality. This coach brings our number of vehicles to 8, enabling us to cope with groups ranging in size from 22 passengers, to 200 plus passengers and the only 4 and 5 star coaches available in Tauranga. You can view photographs of these vehicles here. Several of the coaches are booked for nationwide tours this summer, so whether it be for day trips or longer excursions, we can cater for your needs at very competitive prices. School trips are core to our business with many Probus groups, Garden clubs, local firms and industry based operators availing themselves of our services.
As indicated in previous newsletters, Royale Coachlines owner/operator, George Oliver also owns and manages Luxury Airport Shuttles, which provides the added bonus of having a fleet of smaller high quality vehicles (4 to 19 seats and everything in between) available if you have a smaller group wishing to travel. Many of these vans can be dry hired – i.e. drive yourself which cuts down the cost of having to pay for a drive as well. Look on the luxury airport shuttles website for details of these vehicles.
We hope that your summer travels go well and please don’t hesitate to request a quotation from our office for your next trip away – be it near or far or for large groups or small.
The very successful amalgamation of Royale Coachlines & Luxury Airport Shuttles has brought many benefits to our Tauranga & Rotorua clients.
With vehicles ranging from 4 available seats to 54 available seats we are now able to cater for any sized group wanting to travel anywhere in New Zealand. We have also added another 53 seater coach to our Royale fleet, thus enabling us to accommodate groups of up to 200 passengers which is becoming increasingly common with burgeoning conference events happening in Tauranga and large school groups wanting to travel on educational, sporting and cultural exchanges.
The facility for smaller groups being able to drive themselves in our dry hire 10-12 seater modern Mercedes vans is very popular, especially with schools who are able to cut the costs to their students by having a teacher or coach drive these vehicles. The demand is great especially during national secondary tournament weeks, so be in fast with your bookings.
Tauranga & the wider Bay of Plenty is certainly benefiting from the ever increasing number of Cruise Ships visiting the Port of Tauranga during the summer season. These visits keep Royale Coachlines very busy and elsewhere on this website you will be able to see the tours we offer, with more & more large groups wishing to avail themselves of our services. Our skilled and experienced drivers are well versed in catering the need of these overseas visitors.
We have recently appointed two new members to our Royale Coachlines family – a full time mechanic and a full time panel & point technician. This enables our fleet to be in tip top condition, both mechanically and in presentation. Most of the mechanical and panel work is now done on site.
Last summer also saw Royale Coachlines being contracted by other national tour operations to assist with New Zealand wide tours during their busy summer season. We have been happy to assist these operators and have received very positive feedback from their clients- as well as our own.
With the arrival of snow on Whakapapa & Turoa ski fields, we have many clients booked in for ski camps this winter. A popular trip, especially for school groups, – but again, don’t leave your bookings too late as these weeks are filling up fast.
Remember that a phone call or an email enquiry to our Royale Coachlines or Luxury Airport Shuttles office will elicit a hasty response and our office staff are skilled at accommodation your requests with a very competitive quote.
The long balmy days of summer and countless Cruise Ship trips to Rotorua, Rotoiti and other various local tourist attractions are now behind us. We are told that another huge influx of Cruise Ships will commence again for the next season starting in October which bodes well for the Tourism Industry in the Bay of Plenty. It has been an exceptionally busy summer season overall for Royale Coachlines with many loyal repeat clients, plus an increasing number of new organizations availing themselves of our excellent service and up to date fleet. We really enjoy taking these groups away on all sorts of trips to many extremely interesting venues and our drivers always come home full of praise for the great trips they have experienced.
At the end of 2013, George Oliver, the owner of Royale Coachlines bought out the Bay of Plenty’s biggest shuttle operator, Luxury Airport Shuttles. The amalgamation of Royale Coachlines and Luxury Airport Shuttles now provides a completely new service to the Bay of Plenty with a range of vehicles including 4 seater cars, 8 to 19 seater luxury vans, and six coaches ranging from 21 seats to 54 seats. This capacity now caters for all your trips and events, with the airport shuttle vans to and from Rotorua, Hamilton and Auckland Airports providing a 24 hour service second to none. George has recently purchased six updated cars and vans to bring the fleet up to its luxury reputation and we are certain that customers will enjoy the increased comfort and reliability. He is also providing a service whereby customers can drive their own 10 seater rental vans to anywhere in the country.

Spring is well and truly here after what has been a very busy winter season for Royale Coachlines. Copious school and sports trips, camps to the snow, corporate conferences, Probus outings, Kiwifruit workers returning to their home country and more and more overseas groups have kept our coaches on the road with increasing regularity.
We welcome another 53 seater coach to our fleet which has increased our capacity for larger groups. Our 3 bigger coaches can now accommodateC groups of 150, and this, coupled with our mid-sized coaches sees the capacity increase to 230 passengers.
Tauranga has become a preferred city for many corporate conferences and it has been our pleasure to transport these conferees from all corners of the world to many local venues. It has also been our privilege to transport many local school groups and teams over the winter and it is most rewarding to see these groups excel at their chosen codes against national and international rivals.
The Cruise Ships are back with us again and our contract with Waimarino sees us meeting each of these 80 or so ships to shuttle passengers to Lake Rotoiti for a most enjoyable days kayaking amongst some of the best scenery in the world.
We welcome back our driver Matthew Best, who has been unable to drive over the winter months due to an operation on his ankle. It will be great to have Matthew back and we know that many of you have missed him.
Do contact us if you think we can assist you with your travel requirements and we are only too happy to help with your itinerary and budget restraints.
A glorious summer has seen us very busy with 86 Cruise Ship visits requiring copious trips to Lake Rotoiti, Rotorua and Waiotapu and the Hobbiton Village. In between that, Garden Clubs, Probus Groups, Corporate Businesses, Japanese Students and of course our own school groups have sent us to all corners of the North Island. 100 Japanese teenage Boys from our sister city in Japan, Hitachi City, spent 10 days here in Tauranga living with host families and visiting local schools and attractions – a very successful exchange to be repeated again next year.
Kiwifruit Companies have had us up and down to Auckland International Airport picking up Kiwifruit workers from Malaysia, Indonesia, Samoa, Solomon Islands – here to assist with the 2013 Kiwifruit Harvest.
The addition to our fleet over the last year of a 54 seater Mercedes 404 and a 38 seater BCI have increased our capacity dramatically and clients have given us very positive feedback on comfort levels and quality of ride. Garden Clubs and Probus Groups and local businesses have especially appreciated this extra level of comfort.
With winter fast approaching, local Colleges will keep us challenged with many winter code sports trips, especially college rugby teams who compete annually in the Super 8 competition against other Boys Colleges throughout the North Island. Already, other groups are gearing up for snow trips to Whakapapa – hopefully another year of abundant snow.
Please do contact us to discuss your next group trip away – we are only too happy to assist in itinerary planning and to give you a very competitive quotation.
